The Hong Kong Code-Mixing Dictionary was created with the intention to promote Hong Kong Cantonese, especially to those who are new to this innovative variety of Cantonese in this 21st century and for those who want to practice the art of code-mixing, an academic term that refers to the insertion of words and phrases from a foreign language into a local language, in order to become a true bilingual master.
The Hong Kong Cantonese Code-mixing Group is a meetup group that was created to investigate more on the code-mixing phenomenon of Hong Kong. With globalisation and the abundance of English learning resources on the internet, it makes a lot of sense that the young generation would incorporate so many English words into their mother-tongue Cantonese dialogue nowadays. However, code-mixing is still a very complex matter and requires more investigation, as some see it as a good thing, while others see it as a negative thing.
The Fake ABC Book Club is a meetup group that was created to help English as a Second Language (ESL) learners improve their English skills through reading English novels. Every week, a number of common words from a novel that native English speakers often use in their daily conversation will be highlighted on Powerpoint slides so that ESL learners are able to communicate more effectively using slightly fancier words.
This Discourse forum is intended for people to share their education experiences with others or to discuss about anything that is related to education so that we may become more aware of our learning environment, as all education systems have their own strengths and weaknesses. Feel free to share your thoughts after reading my blog articles on this website.
This is a NodeJS application created for fun using an entirely new concept, but was used to primarily demonstrate my technical skills for my final project of a full-time immersive full-stack development course at a coding bootcamp.
